Today is my 38th Birthday and I yes I am getting closer to 40 but I guess life goes on.
I watched Julie & Julia today and it really inspired me to work hard on keeping up with projects and decided to work on practicing my cooking and baking and also try to create or work on a jewelry piece or other artsy/crafty item a little everyday. Pretty much I want to try to do something creative everyday. Well wish me luck. And I am in the processing of condensing and moving my blogs to my new Word press blog.

I finished my first amulet bag this morning and will show it off in a couple of months its for a competition.

Colors

With such a large number of colors to work with in seed beads, sometimes it takes longer to pick beads then stitch the project.
I find inspiration for my colors from nature and love to watch fashion type shows on TV. i.e. The Fashion Show and Project Runway. They give you an idea about colors that are happening now.

What inspires you to pick the colors you work with?

Let me know I love to hear about what inspires people and it can help us inspire each other :)

**Tip: Using black and white in projects will help colors pop **

Good Morning ! I am getting ready to put together some of my Peyote Flower Sqaure Kits. What colors would you be interested in? They can come in size 11's or 8's and working on kits with size 6's which is a great way to teach this stitch to kids.
You can use the squares to make earrings, put a bunch together for bracelets etc. Or use it as a pendant for a necklace the possibilities are endless.
Kit will include:
1. Seed Beads (enough for 2 squares)
2. Pattern /directions
3. Nymo size D thread
4. Needle

I had a really busy weekend that seemed to fly and did not get any jewelry making in like I had planned. So today I need to work with my kitchen wares business and then work on jewelry. Rain Rain go away come back another day! I am going to bead again today and hope to finish the pretty black and blue choker. Although it is Friday and I need to fit some other stuff in my day unfortunately. And my son is home sick today. Ok going to make me some chai and get busy. I am hoping to post my newest necklace today. :) In the meantime here is my office/studio in my office with the living room couch as my wall. ;P

Yep its hard for me to get motivated when it is so rainy and dark outside.

Hey all, I am regrouping and doing some changes. I discontinued alteredinspiration.com for the time being you can see my jewelry online at my etsy store and on this blog. I have started another business where I sell Kitchen stuff and have not had a chance to work on Jewelry. I am in the process now of designing some new and exciting designs I think you will like.

This is going to be a busy week for me. I am getting started on Pampered chef so I need to get my studio/office cleaner (If that is even possible , you know what I am talking about hee hee). Organize myself ??? Is that even possible for an artsy Sagittarius.

Well anyway going to be mass making wire wrapped and stone rings and possible some wire people earrings this week for the show on Friday and Saturday. I have not done a show in a while and looking forward to having some fun , I will be doing it with other members of Lincoln Handmade Etsy Team. (See Previous entry)

I also submitted a fall jewerly set which should be in Beading Daily's fall gallery.

Wow I was up early this morning my daughters friend showed up at 5:30ish. *yawn*.
Going to finish up my coffee and get ready for my busy day of organizing.

Hey all you seed beaders and jewelry artist or just want to learn how are learn more about. I am pondering of starting a Lincoln Beader's Group. This group will be for beaders in the Lincoln Nebraska area. Once we have enough interest I am planning on trying to find a location to meet. I think it would be fun if we could figure out and have our own bead / jewelry show. I was thinking of charging a small membership fee to help support activities and the running of the group.

Getting ready for a new season :)

As you can tell from the top of my blog I am getting ready for moving on to the next seasons jewelry items etc. I am now tired of the hot summer and ready to start concentrating on some fall and winter designs. And how about some jewelry for Christmas/holiday season. I will also be going back to my original store Punchies Etc. and start offering hang tags for jewelry and other tags and paper items. Punchies Etc. was my scrapbooking/paper supplies for scrapbooking and paper making. Working on organizing and getting my office ready and I will be off and running working on my new kits, designs, and paper items . Will also be bringing back my polymer clay beads and pendants. So watch for new stuff coming soon.

Hi, I am in the process of developing and putting together beading kits. The kits will teach you how to do peyote and read patterns, you will be able to make some pretty seed beaded earrings called "Loopy Fun" and a stitch bracelet "Funky Fun". As soon as I am done designing the patterns on paper , I am planning on putting together a team of volunteers to try out my patterns to make sure they are easy even for someone who has never beaded before. Eventually I would like to incorporate my designs into home beading and jewelry parties.

We are based in Lincoln Nebraska and surrounding areas. We have had our first meeting which went well and we are off and running. I am so excited had to share :)

Other then that I am working on beadwork entries for the Nebraska State Fair. I got 2nd place last year for a beadwork bracelet and hope to have a repeat or better hee hee ;)
